和のリメイク Annaj アナジェー

以前、蚤の市でとてもキレイで色鮮やかな帯に出会い、衝撃を受けました。大振りの花柄や金糸、刺繍にも心を奪われて購入したはいいものの、使いようもなく、リメイクをしてバッグを作っていました。

そのことを知る方から「母から譲り受けた帯だが、今の私の年齢には合わなくて使えない。捨てる事なんてできないので何かに作り替えて欲しい」と言われました。一度はお断りしましたがまたおっしゃっていたので、バッグを作って差し上げることに。そう言うと、「同じ物を母にプレゼントをしたい」と。

その帯は以前リメイクしたキレイな帯と同じく、昭和初期の物。格式高い祝いの時に使われる亀甲柄で、色も鮮やかなオレンジと少しグリーンが入っていてとても華やか。

バッグを作ってお渡しして数日後、母から伝言を預かったと「ステキに加工して頂きありがとうございました。昔の思い出が蘇るようです。大変気に入りました」とのこと。やはりとても思い出深い帯だったようです。

祖母や母や先人から受け継いだ、行き場を失った箪笥の肥やしの着物や帯が山のようにある。それらをアップサイクルして、また誰かの価値あるものに作り変えたという想いから2022年に始まったプロジェクトです。

～　I want to keep the obi and kimono I inherited from my mother.

Before, I was shocked when I came across a very beautiful and colorful Obi at a flea market.I was also fascinated by the large floral pattern, gold thread, and embroidery and bought it, but there was no way to use it, so I remade it and made a bag.

Someone who know this told me,”This is the Obi I inherited from my mother, but it doesn‘t fit my current age, so I can‘t use it. I refused once, but you said again, so I decided to make a bag for you.Wten I said that, “I want to give the same thing to my mother as a present.”

The Obi is from the early Showa period, as is the beautiful obi that was remade before. It is a turtle shell pattern used for prestigious celebrations, and the color is also bright orange and a little green and it is very gorgeous.

A few days after I made the bag and handed it over, my mother sent me a message, saying, “Thank you for processing it wonderfully, it seems to bring back old memories. I really liked it.” It seems that it was a very memorable Obi.

There are piles of Kimonos snd Obis that have been handed down from grandmothers, mothers, and predecessors. This project started with the idea of upcycling them and remaking them into something of value to someone else.

和の素材で和柄だけど洋風に見える、今の時代に合った洋服に合わせやすいもの。日本の素晴らしい伝統の織物や柄を身近に感じて欲しい。日常使ってほしいという想いで提案しています。そしてただそれだけではなく、ファッションとしても持ちたくなるもの。そう思い、名前はあえて、ファッション界を牽引している、アメリカ版VOGUEの編集長「アナ・ウィンター」の名前にあやかり、AnnaにJapanをかけて、Annaj(アナジェー)と、な名付けました。

ロゴの意味は周りの矢印は循環の意味でアップサイクルを表し中は花菱と花水木を合わせた模様です。

花菱は菱形の中に花びらを4枚描いた模様で平安時代から有職模様として限られた人たちしか使うことが許されなかったことから、高貴、上品という意味を表します。

Annajアナジェーではかわいらしさも表現したくて丸い形にしています。

花水木は花、実、紅葉と三拍子そろって美しく、女の子の成長を願う縁起木です。

それらを合わせて品を持ち、女性を前向きに成長していくイメージにしています。

オレンジ色は元気に外にでる活力にるものをご提供したい。また周りや文字のベージュは品の良い大人の女性を表しています。

～What is Annaj

It’s made from Japanese materials and has a Japanese pattern, but looks Western, and is easy to match with modern clothing. We want you to experience Japan’s wonderful traditional textiles and patterns up close. We are proposing this product with the hope that it will be used on a daily basis. And it’s not just that, it’s also something you’ll want to own as a fashion item. With that in mind, I decided to name it Anna Wintour, the editor-in-chief of American VOGUE, who is a leading figure in the fashion world, by combining Anna with Japan and naming it Annaj.

The　meaning of logo is that the arrows around it represent upcycle in the sense of circulation, and the inside is a pattern that combines Hanabishi and Hanamizuki.
Hanabishi is a diamond-shaped pattern with four flower petals drawn in it, and since the Heian period, only a limited number of people were allowed to use it as a pattern for employed people, so it symbolizes nobility and elegance.
At Annaj, we wanted to express cuteness, so we chose a round shape.
Hanamizuki is a beautiful flower, fruit, and autumn leaves, and is an auspicious tree that prays for a girl’s growth.
Together, these elements create an image of elegance and positive growth for women.
We want to offer the orange color something that will give you the energy to go outside. Also, the beige surroundings and letters represent a refined adult woman.
